Sunday Time Waster: All These Damn Boardgames →
Matches quite well with my experience. The iPad is a great conduit between the video game and the board game worlds.

Carcassonne App: Expansion details →
One of the best iOS board games is even better: carcassonne: Hi guys, I thought it might be a good time to finally give out a few more details. Let me highlight the two available expansions and the new features of the update for you. The River “The River” adds 12 new tiles, that are played at the start of a game, laying out a river that divides the…

The Expansion Update
Can’t wait! carcassonne: Hi there. Just a quick update to let you know that we are still alive and will submit the update containing the expansion store to Apple for review this week. As planned two expansions will be available for purchase: “The River” and “Inns and Cathedrals”. I will post more details (like an availability date, screenshots and pricing) as soon as possible. PS: Our...

A human review of the Kindle Fire – Marco.org →
My guess is that Amazon will sell enough of the Fire to justify making a better second model; this review makes me very happy I never considered getting the first one.

This is a great overview/review of the newest Player’s Options book for 4E D&D. I feel much the same way as the reviewer, just perusing this book makes me want to run some Feywild adventures.

stevenf.com: Steve Jobs →
stevenf: Apple was founded in 1976, a year after I was born. We grew up together. In fact, for a little while, we grew up across the street from each other. Through a completely unrelated-to-Apple twist of events, my family emigrated from England to the US in the early 80’s, and we just so happened to…

Rob Delaney: Bought some US stocks →
robdelaney: I just bought some shares in an index fund that tracks the Wilshire 5000, which means I just bought shares in the 5000 largest American companies. I did this because I wished to take substantive action immediately upon learning of Standard & Poor’s downgrade of US credit. Standard & Poor’s, and to…

Mac OS X Lion
Since I have a paid developer membership, I’ve been using Mac OS X Lion (10.7 for those allergic to cats) for a few months now. I did a rather foolish thing and installed it on one of my main work computers when the first beta was released, and have been using it daily ever since. I love it. Unlike the 10.5 to 10.6 upgrade, there are some significant and very noticeable changes in 10.7....
